4.2.1 Animals to be slaughtered
- The animal to be slaughtered shall be halal animal.
- The animal to be slaughtered shall be healthy with approved by the veterinarian.
- The animal to be slaughtered shall be alive or deemed to be alive at the time of slaughter.
- Before slaughter, the animal shall be fed and taken a rest properly.
4.2.2 Slaughterer
- The slaughterer shall be a Muslim who is mentally sound and fully understands the fundamental rules and conditions related to the slaughter of animals in Islam.
- The slaughterer shall not be in ihram ( the compulsory costume must be worn during Hajj performing.)
- The slaughterer shall have a Halal Slaughter Certificate issued by ICC.
Furthermore the slaughterer shall implement requirements of the competent authority related to health, hygiene and sanitation control.
- Slaughtering and other processes will be supervised and certified by Shariah Supervisor (means a trained Muslim Inspector), who is appointed by the imam of ICC
- Regarding non-Muslim countries, slaughter and all of other processes will be acceptable if everything implemented this standard and all processes are supervised and certified by the imam of ICC and related to halal food.
